'Ghostbusters' Gameplay Footage

Posted by Mike D'Alonzo - Friday, November 16, 2007 6:00 AM

Remember that Ghostbusters game we told you about yesterday? Well, apparently they were a little further along than we originally thought. Late yesterday afternoon we were handed a mysterious tape with game footage on it from the game itself, and we're pretty sure it's exclusive to us. Of course, it's the internet, so you never know.

No matter, we have it, and it looks completely awesome.

"Two in the box ready to go."
"We be fast, and they be slow."
Sweetest game footage ever.

This looks really good. Unlike most movie games, this seems to actually follow the movies.

Posted by psychobaka - Friday, November 16, 2007 6:24 AM
This is awesome! If they have a coop mode this could be a blockbuster!

Posted by Zannlikespie - Friday, November 16, 2007 6:27 AM

They have the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man! Must have! *fanboy scream*

Posted by ManOfTeal - Friday, November 16, 2007 6:39 AM
@Zannlikespie

Judging by the buttons it flashes on the screen that it wants you to press(ex: X to tug harder, A to Blast Beam) I would say it will definitely be coming out for the Xbox 360

Posted by colourings - Friday, November 16, 2007 6:42 AM
OMG!!!

That's epic!

I WANT THAT !*$$ING GAME!!

dont cross the beams!!!!

Posted by Oinkness - Friday, November 16, 2007 7:06 AM
LoL If they have it on the Wii, I'll buy it!
...especially if it has a Luigi cameo.

Posted by Caprice23 - Friday, November 16, 2007 7:11 AM
it looks cool but it looks more like the first movie then a sequal to the second movie like you reported before. Which is alright but I thought it was going to be the unoffical 3 moive.

Posted by John_Hancock - Friday, November 16, 2007 7:25 AM
as much as I would love to see this on the Wii... It looks like as if this game uses the Unreal Engine 3, which the Wii cant handle... BUT - there is always hope.

Posted by clayfighter - Friday, November 16, 2007 7:25 AM
this is gonna rock super hard. its so cool looking much better than the zoofly vid

Posted by John_Hancock - Friday, November 16, 2007 7:27 AM
Sorry about the space, I dont know what happened

Posted by GreenQuadrant - Friday, November 16, 2007 7:33 AM
This game is going to kick major ghost ass.

Posted by clayfighter - Friday, November 16, 2007 7:37 AM
im sorry i just have to comment again this is to damn awesome

"we came, we saw, WE KICKED THAT GHOSTS ASS!"

Posted by MutantEnemyMTL - Friday, November 16, 2007 7:39 AM
Remember when someone asks you if you're a god, you say "YES"!

Posted by eldera1 - Friday, November 16, 2007 7:46 AM
Ummm.....I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but that game doesn't look that great. It looks like another point and shoot game, only you have to move the ghost over a certain area and then you are done. The movie was great, but the game is probably going to suck. It just doesn't look that good

Posted by John_Hancock - Friday, November 16, 2007 7:53 AM
Thanks for your 2 cents eldera. If people think this game looks good then that's their opinion. Your not bursting anyone's bubble because, that your own opinion. "Bursting one's bubble" means that you are giving information that they did not already know. Your statement was an opinion. not information....douche

theres something strange in the neighborhood,
who you gonna call?
GHOSTBUSTERS

"And the flowers are still standing!!"

Posted by djbfzero - Friday, November 16, 2007 8:06 AM
Just as I thought... F'ING AWESOME. This game'll sell, boy. And if that doesn't show them how much we would've wanted a 3rd film, I don't know what will.

Posted by hetman - Friday, November 16, 2007 8:17 AM
It does look like the first movie. But I wonder if they just do not use slimmer as a generic enemy you have to fight all over the city or whatever enviroments they are going to use.

Posted by Tasomo - Friday, November 16, 2007 8:21 AM
I love how they brought back the sound effects too. This game looks like a big juicy steak of Win covered lovingly with Awesomesauce.

Posted by ManOfTeal - Friday, November 16, 2007 8:30 AM
Hey Egon......your mucus......

Posted by ManOfTeal - Friday, November 16, 2007 8:34 AM
Janine: "Do you have any hobbies?"

Egon: "I collect spores, molds, and fungus."

LOVE IT

Posted by DrRotwang - Friday, November 16, 2007 8:39 AM
Hey, was that Frank Welker voicing Slimer aka "the ghost of John Belushi"?

I swear, EVERYTHING sounds like Frank Welker.

Posted by Rusty_Trombone - Friday, November 16, 2007 8:42 AM
I still think a third movie could work. Have a new team put together, stick them in some sort of trouble that they can't get out of, and have the original guys go in there, Space Cowboys-style.

Posted by Rusty_Trombone - Friday, November 16, 2007 8:47 AM
I think Slimer's role was a bit underplayed in the second movie. He could have been a lot more useful.

Posted by Malfar - Friday, November 16, 2007 8:53 AM
The movie was ok, but the cartoon series, was better. I wish that they would have centered the game around the cartoon... but it will make a great additin to my game collection.

Posted by ASXL41 - Friday, November 16, 2007 8:55 AM
If they made the game for the Wii, they should have an attachment to the Wiimote that make it look like the proton pack and blaster. How bitchin would that be.

The proton pack is a bit dated by now. But then again, the power cell has a half-life of like 10,000 years, so it'd be more than functional.

Posted by Angelus9 - Friday, November 16, 2007 9:15 AM
I wonder if the bubble gum gun is going to come out in the game, and also the ape sidekick....oh yeah, these are the real ghostbusters. I got confused for a second.....Does anyone think that Bobby Brown is going to make a cameo in the game, I would love incinerate his azz with a proton pack.

Posted by Rootbeer120 - Friday, November 16, 2007 9:15 AM
is there another weapon?

Posted by ASXL41 - Friday, November 16, 2007 9:17 AM
Just remember..."Your kid brother couldn't handle the proton pack. It's not a kid's toy."

Posted by eldera1 - Friday, November 16, 2007 9:34 AM
The movies were great, but the game doesn't look good at all. I am gonna laugh when the game gets a terrible score. You are a moron John_Hancock. So what if it is an opinion. The game play doesn't look good at all.

Posted by EVAzero - Friday, November 16, 2007 9:37 AM
eldera1... you suck. "Ummm.....I hate to burst everyone's bubble"... stupid statement.

This game looks great! I want! But I thought it was supposed to be after 2, it looks like it follows 1?

Posted by typhonic - Friday, November 16, 2007 10:08 AM
So how are you supposed to cross the streams to kill the Stay Puft Marshmallow man? Here's for hoping for some hot Keymaster/Gatekeeper action.

Posted by sykoh - Friday, November 16, 2007 10:11 AM
Woah! I thought this game was gonna be really crappy looking and whatnot but man it looks awsome!

Posted by Spiderish - Friday, November 16, 2007 10:20 AM
I will finally avenge all those deaths to that damnable dancing staypuff marshmallow man. Those streams look perfect too. If they screw this up I'm burning their studio down!

Where do those stairs go?
They go up!
