Hot young Bad Boy Records R&B group B5 may not seem like your typical Freestyle 101 guests, but like their new album says, Don’t Talk, Just Listen.
The Breeding brothers’ ages may range from 11 to 17, but they definitely know hip hop. Dustin, Kelly, Patrick, Carnell and Bryan’s self-titled debut CD was a Top 20 hit on the Billboard 200 and peaked at # 7 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop chart. After an alliance with Disney’s High School Musical, the five brothers cut their sophomore effort for P. Diddy’s label, the aforementioned Don’t Talk, Just Listen.
Comin' up in hip hop hotbed Atlanta, the boys in B5 are all rap fans, but it’s Kelly who does the spittin'. He also happens to be a G4tv fan and big gamer, so we were delighted when he spit some rhymes about everything from Halo 3, Gears of War, Super Smash Bros., Splinter Cell and Heavenly Sword, over a dope Bruce Yi beat outside the Engine Room in Hollywood.
