The FCC has fined RadioShack and other stores for willfully failing to label television sets that don't have digital tuners and warn customers that 2009 is the cutoff for televisions that will need a converter box to watch digital-only signals when the technology changes.
Though RadioShack was one of the most heavily fined stores, it was not the only store. Included on the list was Boscov's, Fred Meyer, and Ultimate Electronics. Though the fines are finite, the FCC warned that if the stores didn't get with the program, they would face a heavy daily fine until they did.
