'Army of Two' Delayed

Posted by Stephen Johnson - Tuesday, October 23, 2007 8:04 AM

Judging from the trailers and screenshots, we think combat/cooperation simulator Army of Two will be an awesome game*, but it looks like we'll have to wait a bit to find out. The game has been delayed until 2008.

EA says they need more time to polish the game, which probably isn't a good sign, but dammit, we want to believe.

"Army of Two has potential to become a lasting EA franchise -- so getting the first title right is essential," Frank Gibeau, head of EA Games, said in a statement.

* We know a lot of people saw the trailer and said "not good," but we were more like, "kinda good." Check out the preview below and let us know what you think. We think it has potential.

That's fine by me....Army of Two was not even on my list of games to get.......is it on anyone else's must have list I wonder?

their are so many good games coming out next month and army of two was one of them.I think it's a good thing AOT is delayed until next year.

I'm glad the game was delayed for quality purposes.

I'm looking forward to this game! November is just kamikaze month for games. I'm glad the list has shortened so I spend less money! LOL

i was going to get this game, but i am glad its delayed... so many great games this holiday season that i just dont have the time or money to get them all.

Honestly they could delay it until January and that would be fine by me. Even then I was going to rent it. Between Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros, COD4, , Drake's Fortune, Rockband it's not like anyone will be able to afford every game that looks 'kinda good'.

Except apparently Sessler.

And to take his point and run with it. Perhaps EA Montreal agreed that it was a crowded month of November and delaying it might not only make the game better, but it might actually get the spotlight it deserves.

The game doesn't even look fun to me.

not surpising at all

i was going to buy this one but i think it was delayed mainly due to the number of great games coming out in the next few months. think about it, just about all the devs are putting out the best of the best for christmas. if AOT is delayed a few months until the game drought that almost always follows christmas it will sale a lot more copies.

I just want a cool co-op game like Gears of War, because right now that's all we have in terms of co-op. Halo 3's okay, but the co-op lacks a certain finesse that Gears has. Kane and Lynch looks like it will be good for co-op as well.

You hear me game developers!?! I want more freaking co-op!!!

Posted by Danthrax - Tuesday, October 23, 2007 9:40 AM
Yo JDarkley I completely agree. I don't think Kane and Lynch is co-op though! Does anyone know if AOT is co-op? I've been spoiled by Gears and Halo3 with co-op! Do want.

I was just checking out when exactly this game was coming out (Nov 14th). I'm bored with Halo, tired of getting my ass kicked in GOW I was looking forward to this game. I guess I'll have to settle for COD4 and Orange Box. Jericho anyone, anyone...anyone...

Posted by Crapsh00t - Tuesday, October 23, 2007 9:46 AM
I am joining JDarkley in a shout for more co-op. I'm going to get this game, so I'm happy it's getting bumped back in that a.) a little polish never hurt a game, and b.) now November doesn't have to be a $350+ gaming month.

Between GTA and AOT I'll be able to save some money until next year.

Now if only Assassin's Creed were to be pushed back to December I'd be in really good shape.

I agree that there should be a lot more co-op games out there. I'm getting tired of wishing that "Black" will have a sequel (especially with some sort of co-op mode)!

What better game to play with your best bud, this game looks awesome and I can't wait until it comes out. And from the trailers I've seen on youtube the banter between the two main characters is just like my best bud and I! Hopefully it will have online ability now that my best bud is going to be stationed over in Germany!

Was thinking about picking it up but I probably won't know, I will just forget about it.

i think everyone is just cheap when they say "thank god its delayed"
why would u ever want to wait 4 months for a game just to save 60 bucks?
im really bummed cause this was my top 3 games for nov- mass effect looks great but can be a huge hit or miss- kane and lynch has no co-op story mode and jericho doesnt look like as much fun as u mite hope-

Posted by tarshimo - Tuesday, October 23, 2007 6:10 PM
this is bull crap why would they wait like 2 weeks before the games release and then delay it, yeah I'm sure its for the better, but why the hell would they wait to the last minute to delay it.

I agree that this title needed some extra work. As it is right now, it seems a little clunky. Streamline the game mechanics and add some variety to the levels and it might actually be pretty good.
