'Gods and Heroes' Cancelled

Posted October 10, 2007 - By Mike D'Alonzo

The squad-based, MMO RPG Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising, which was in closed beta and has been in development from Perpetual Entertainment for the past three years, has been cancelled, according to the Executive Producer of the project, Chris McKibbin. Apparently, upon taking a closer look at the game they created, the company wasn't happy with the product, and decided to cancel it completely.

In the meantime, Perpetual will continue its work trying to complete Star Trek Online, and Rome will remain unsullied by any sort of MMO, for at least the near future. We saw this game at E3, and thought it looked pretty cool, but there must have been larger problems somewhere to cancel it thus.

In the meantime, we invite you back to the halcyon days when the game was still in it's possible infancy, and when we had a chance to preview it at E3. Why not watch the preview, and see what could have been?
