According to The Simpsons' lead designer Greg Rizzer, the parody of videogames offended some people in the gaming community; get this: Rockstar, the makers of Grand Theft Auto, took offense over Simpsons Game posters reading "Grand Theft Scratchy."
At this year's Games Convention in Leipzig, someone at RockStar asked that the GTS poster be taken down.
But before you're all: "Grand Theft Auto games parody stuff all the time! The nerve..." keep in mind, the offended party was probably a lawyer...and we know how lawyers can be. Probably it had more to do with the posters' art being very close to GTA's than with any real offense.
"I don't know who specifically at Rockstar", Rizzer said. "I'm guessing probably more than anyone it was a lawyer. The people who work on that product, I doubt they were like, 'Stop that!'"
Completely unrelated: The Simpsons game features a section where you get to play Apu's favorite videogame, Sitar Hero. It features a 60-button controller. Lulz!
