HP Debuts Handheld Gaming Prototype

Posted September 28, 2007 - By Stephen Johnson

Tech company HP is working on a unique handheld video game (Roku's Reward) that uses GPS, cameras and a portable console to combine real-life environments and gaming.

It's hard to explain but easy to understand; check out the trailer:

There's no word on when/if the game will actually go into production, but we think, judging from the trailer, it has some potential...although maybe encouraging people to run/dodge while staring down at a handheld is a really, really bad idea.

What do you think? Weird gimmick that will never happen or something you would actually play?
