A World of Warcraft character sold recently for the ungodly sum of $9,700. That's real cash too; not fake role-playing money.
The avatar, a Night Elf rogue, sports The Twin Blades of Azzinoth dropped by Illidan Stormrage and 4/5 of a tier six armor set, making it arguably the best equipped Word of Warcraft character on earth. On the negative side: It's a damn night elf, meaning it's alliance, and therefore worth about 65 cents in our eyes.
The seller, Zeuzo from the Method guild on the Sylvanas server, is building a new rogue.
Interestingly (maybe tragically) the buyer's account hasn't been logged onto since September 3rd, prompting speculation that the most expensive character evar has been banned by Blizzard. TheFeed thinks that's pretty funny.
