Could 'Halo 3' Hit $200 Million Day 1 Sales?

Analyst Colin Sebastian of Lazard Capital Markets thinks that Halo 3 could be looking at a $200 million day.

This is way higher than Microsoft's own estimate of $155 million, which is still higher than Halo 2's one-day haul of $125 million.

Sales numbers should be helped by the fact that 360 games run $60, while Halo 2 released at $50. The Collector's Edition and Legendary Edition will help as well.

Did you take into account the budget for a blockbuster summer flick in comparison to Halo 3? It's really a remarkable feat if they manage to pull off those numbers, fanboyism aside of course.

the only reason this game would ever have a $200 million day would be if all you idiots out there bought the legendary bullshit. microsoft is becoming so greedy that it's almost not worth buying their products. Everyone go wait in line for it for hours like you did with halo 2. That was definitely a really smart idea since you could get it the next day WITHOUT waiting in line. Better set up your tent now cuz the countdown to the "biggest game of all time" is already coming to an end. I'm tired of hearing about Halo3, Bioshock, and Mass Effect. Halo 3 and Bioshock are incredible games and everything, but isn't there anything better to talk about? I've been hearing about Halo3 three for a year and a half now; excuse me if I think that's a tad bit too long. I scroll around The Feed, and all I see is Halo 3, and it's abundance of fanboys that are intellectually incapable of using proper grammar. I want news, not hype.

I am a 360 fanboy all the way and i love my 360 but i have to get this out there. The Feed is def. pro Halo 3 and MS if you all haven't noticed. But yea thought i would get that out there for all you flamers and such who complain about no PS3 news or PS3 game news. But yea, i think its pretty cool anyway though cause there is someplace i can come for all my Halo and MS news.

I will never buy any edition of any Halo game, and I can see my 360 from here. Neither will my friend who owns a 360 (even though he'd LOVE to) because his sh*t RRODed last week.

Yes maybe it is overly hyped up, but there is a purpose behind that. You never seen like a trailer of the game like a year ago. Bungie did it on purpose. Halo 3 probably hopefully will do the $200 million mark, but also put this into effect, they already broke the presales record too. Halo is just a great franchise and because people probably beaten Halo 1 and 2 and didn't like the end of 2, will still probably get it just because of the ending. With the new multiplayer and what Live has to do with it, won't doubt it. Bungie is smart of just putting out a little at each time, and please don't say to me that people aren't counting down the days, I preordered 2 copys, Limited and Lengendary, and picking it up at midnight,

Also 360 has the games to go with it, Bungie is a great Developer, and ps3 doesn't have anything yet, so f*ck off and if you don't have to say anything, this isn't the place or time, all you probably do is sit on your ass and play games day in and day out.
