One of the funniest men on television, Jon Stewart (of The Daily Show) has opted to throw himself into the line of fire one more time and host this year’s Oscars. This will be his second time hosting, the first being back in 2006 when he steered the 78th Annual Academy Awards.
This should stand as a testament to Stewart’s comedic acumen, because almost nobody in recent history, no matter how talented, has ever hosted and gotten a rave reviews, let alone been asked back for a second stint.
The fact that Stewart got fair reviews last time he took the job and was welcomed back with open arms speaks volumes, but the ever humble Stewart still acknowledges how brutal hosting duties can be.
He was quoted as saying, “I’m thrilled to be asked to host the Academy Awards for the second time because, as they say, the third time’s the charm.” God help you, Jon Stewart.
