Setting the record straight regarding Guitar Hero III, there will be online play beginning at launch. Yes, even on the Wii, though the President of Red Octane said otherwise in a recent interview. Perhaps he was talking about the downloadable content, which is surely to be too big to contain on the Nintendo system. Still, there will be online play on every platform when the game ships on October 28th.
In other GHIII news, it's been confirmed that, in addition to Guns N' Roses' Slash, Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello will be one of the bosses in the upcoming game, and, if you manage to beat him one-on-one, you'll get to unlock a new master recording of "Bulls On Parade," one of Rage's signature songs.
So, get those fingers ready. Because Morello is one hell of a guitarist.
