In what could be the most hilarious pairings in the history of TV or hip hop, MTV is launching a new show called Celebrity Rap Superstar where MCs teach celebs how to rap. So who gets paired up, you wonder?
How about rappers Warren G, Redman, Bizarre, Too Short, Tone Loc, Bubba Sparxx, Kurupt, DMC with Perez Hilton, Sebastian Bach, Jason Wahler, Efren Ramirez, Shar Jackson, Kendra Wilkinson, Countess Vaughn and Kevin Hart.
The show aired last night for the first time and teamed eight contestants with their own rap mentor who shared their knowledge and skills to prepare the contestants with the techniques they need to master the art form. For eight weeks the contestants will strut their stuff in front of a live studio audience and a panel of judges, performing covers of hit rap songs, creating original raps and getting tested in freestyle rap competitions. Following each week’s performances the viewing audience will vote for their favorite contestant and the person with the least amount of votes will be eliminated until the rapper with the best skills is chosen as the winner.
I, for one, cannot wait to see gossip guru Perez and heavy metal has-been Sebastian Bach rapping! Bring it on!
