Fingerprint Immobilizer In Your Car?

Posted August 27, 2007 - By Mike D'Alonzo

A fingerprint system that will allow only you to start your car is now available, straight out of the spy magazines of yesteryear. Yes, the ATRD M10 works by reading your fingerprint to determine that you, and only you, are the rightful driver of your car. And, we know what you're thinking...there's a switch that allows the car to be put into 'valet' mode, in case someone else wants to use it.

However, if you are running to a car to escape from ninjas or pirates, it might take a little while for you to be able to start your car, which means that you might be decapitated, raped, or pillaged.* TheFeed has determined that this is no good. Our solution? Put the fingerprint reader on a keychain, which will allow you to remotely start your car from a running start. No fuss, no muss, no pillaging.
