Those interested in hardcore game development (IE: The people who live in the internet) have been buzzing about the problems game developers have working with the PlayStation 3 since before the thing even launched. Most recently, the flap was over frame-rates and Madden 08.
But not everyone finds the PS3 hard to work with. In fact, Ubisoft's Ghost Recon team find the PS3 to be an absolute delight. "It's wrong to say it's harder to code on the PlayStation 3, it's just something that needs to be learned," said Yann Le Tensorer, co-founder of Ubisoft's Tiwak studio.
"It's not harder to develop on the PS3 than it is on the 360, it's just a different console," He continued. "Developers might says it's harder because it just takes time to understand the technology, we're still early in the life cycle."
Maybe the developers having problems should RTFM, no?
