Wii Shortage Likely To Continue

Posted August 17, 2007 - By Stephen Johnson

TheFeed sincerely wishes you guys would stop arguing over which console is best in our comment section. After all, if we judge by sales, there's a clear winner in the next-gen wars: The Nintendo Wii.

Even now, in August, the Wii is in short supply. And it's looking like the drought is going to continue. "Due to the tight supply of components such as IC chips and PCBs, Nintendo's plans to expand production of its Wii games console, originally set for June, have been delayed, according to Taiwan-based component makers," reports Digitimes.

That means more long lines. And more waiting. And higher eBay prices. And perhaps another holiday season where the Wii is the gotta-have-it but can't-find-it gift of the year.
