Jaffe Moves To Utah, Goes Indie

Posted July 27, 2007 - By Patrick Roche-Sowa

David Jaffe, director and designer of God of War, announced on his blog today that he will be no longer employed by Sony Computer Entertainment of America as of tomorrow, and is starting his own indie development studio in Utah called Eat, Sleep, Play. Partnering with Ingocnito founder Scott Campbell, Jaffe and his new studio will release their first original game in 2008, but right now they will be focusing on porting the PSP launch title Twisted Metal: Hands On to the PS2. While the studio is based in Utah, Jaffe will telecommute from San Diego, much in the same way he worked with Incognito and SingleTrac, he said.

Jaffe's move towards smaller scale, more casual games has brought cheers and jeers from gamers all around the globe. Calling All Cars is a great game, and if Jaffe keeps up his current track record, he can move anywhere he wants as far as TheFeed is concerned.
