50 Cent Caught Up In Traffix

Posted July 23, 2007 - By Frank Meyer

Rapper/tycoon 50 Cent recently filed a $1 million lawsuit against Internet advertising company Traffix, claiming that the firm illegally used his image in a game titled Shoot the Rapper that often appears on MySpace.

The rapper says the game depicts him walking back and forth across the top of a page in an Internet advert while users are prompted to shoot him. 50 Cent is suing for actual damages plus unspecified punitive damages, and seeking a permanent injunction against the use of his image without permission.

Though 50’s name does not actually appear in the game, his attorney’s argue that "it looks like him, and there's no doubt the character is intended to be him… For all those reasons, he is personally offended.”

I like that a guy who has humiliated other rapper’s onstage and through song, been shot nine times, and accused of being involved in a number of beatings, is offended by a little cartoon character violence.

Actually, I guess Traffix is getting off likely…he coulda just had his boys run up on ‘em in the street and shoot ‘em in the head!
