Tip: Open Your NAT For a Better PSN

So yesterday TheFeed helped you open your NAT for Xbox Live, but you have a PS3... well today we're going to tell you how to open up your NAT for the PlayStation Network so you can frag in Resistance and race in MotorStorm with as many people as possible.

Not configuring your router's NAT to be "open" can lead to lag, hosting problems, failed connections, and getting disconnected from games.

Click through for details on how to get the most out of your PSN connection

To open your NAT for the PSN, you'll use the same steps as the Xbox guide, but replace the port numbers with these:

TCP: 80, 443, 5223

UDP: 3478, 3479, 3658

Instead of selecting "Both" on your router for each port, just put the one specified. If you aren't going to setup a lot of port forwarding, for the UDP ports, you can just forward the range 3478 - 3658.

TheFeed will be watching the comments to clarify any problems you might have with this so let us know if it's successful or not.

Hello to all this is how I solved the problem of strict Nat opened it first went for the fake DNS DNS S and P on your router to do: Go to Start a search write cmd and press enter now type ipconfig_ / all and you will see the address DNS DNS S P and you see example: 192.168.0.1 and see your IP address 192.168.0.101 then is not good for Videotron customers is that you should see is: DNS P: 24.200.241.37 DNS S: 24,200,243,189 for other ask your INF and change the

I still haven't figured out a way using port forwarding in order to achieve open NAT, but I blame my stupid USR router, can't even understand the settings on it! I've used other routers, and never really had any problems.

Though, I did manage to achieve open NAT, but in the slightly more uncomfortable method using DMZ.
1-Make sure you set the IP Address of the PS3 to static, it should not change. The video on youtube explained this part.
2-Then go to the router settings from a PC, and set that IP address under the DMZ section.

a-One thing I noticed is that might cause problems is the DNS number, this might not be the same as the router IP number (which is usually 192.168.1.1, but 192.168.2.1 on my USR). So make sure you check this number when you do the ipconfig/all on the command prompt on the PC.
