Pop-punkers MXPX do a lot of traveling, be it nationwide treks, world tours, promotional jaunts, festival runs, or just one-off gigs. And with a new album out this week, Secret Weapon, the band are hitting the road once again to bring the rock to the people. So we decided to ask the boys in the band for a tour of their mode of transportation, the infamous bus known as The Black Pearl.
Why is MXPX’s tour bus called The Black Pearl? What goes on in this mysterious vessel? How big is it? What’s in the fridge? Where do the guys sleep? Hey, cool your jets, wildfire. All these questions and more will be answered by bassist/vocalist Mike Herrera and guitarist Tom Wisniewski; just click above and watch.
Founded in July 1992, MXPX has sold over 2.4 million records worldwide. Hey, that’s a lot of rock! The band has amassed a series of alternative radio and video favorites like “Punk Rawk Show,” “Chick Magnet,” “Move To Bremerton,” “I’m Okay, You’re Okay” and “Responsibility” over seven studio albums, an array of EPs, plus a live disc and a DVD. Secret Weapon (Tooth & Nail) boasts guest appearances from Benji Madden of Good Charlotte, Sugarcult’s Tim Pagnotta, and John Davis, formerly of Superdrag.
So grab a beer, heat up some Easy Mac and get ready to go on the bus with MXPX. Just get yer ass off before they head to the next city…no one likes a straggler…
