Nintendo Sponsors Race Car

The Nintendo Wii is not exactly known for its awesome selection of racing games... but all that might change--Nintendo announced today they will be sponsoring a real, live NASCAR race car.

Greg Biffle will be the man behind the wheel of the #16 Wii-themed Ford Fusion pictured above.

Reports that the car will be entirely controlled by a Wii-Mote and Nunchuk combination remain unsubstantiated at press time, although experts agree the suggestion is ridiculous. Automotive insiders confirmed, however, that while most NASCAR vehicles are powered by a precise mixture of methanol and ethanol, The Wii Racer will run entirely on adorablness and fanboy enthusiasm.

Look for the Wii-themed car at Watkins Glen International in New York on Sunday August 12th and then again at the Dover International Speedway in Delaware on Sunday September 23rd!

Sony and Microsoft need cars in this race also- that way we can who will really win the console race. Now if only Burt Reynolds and Dom Delouise would pilot the Wii car...

I think if sony and ms would drop off the gaming market mature gamers or maybe even harcore would perish meaning videogames would perish.

I hope Dale Jr rams this car doin' 150 and it explodes. I hope Biff's ok though, b/c he's a good guy. But I hope Jr dies...I hate all the rednecks who throw shit at Jeff's car...

Now I know Nintendo is trying to branch out to every person on the planet with the Wii, but come on...FRIGGIN NASCAR?!?! I hate Nascar, the entire premise is to race around in a cirle 500 times. GEE DOESNT THAT SOUND LIKE FUN? YEAH IF YOU HAVE ADD!!! Not to mention all of the money and gas wasted. So if you ask me, its a bad move on Nintendos part wanting to be associated with dumbass rednecks...
