Fresh on the heels of $100 price-cut for the PS3, Capcom Chief Financial Officer Kazuhiko Abe expects a further slash of the cost of the console.
"The number of PS2 users is still growing and a shift to the PS3 is on the back burner," Abe said, "But, the price has been cut once and it is likely to be cut again towards the end of the year. I expect the (PS3's) installed base to grow gradually."
With Sony taking a profit hit on every system sold, it's difficult to see how they can justify dropping the already relatively inexpensive console any further...but it might happen.
We hope it ends up costing $45. I mean, a PlayStation 3 is worth a lot more, but who doesn't love a bargain?
