Draco emerges! As a Scottish dragon in medieval times, voiced by the almighty Mr. Sean Connery, Draco…

Oh, this is not Dragonheart 2? Damn.

Microsoft’s flash-based Zune 2 project now apparently goes by the codename, Draco. Sounds more intimidating than its former name, Pyxis—from fairy names to dragons, the wow definitely starts now!

Engadget reports that the new flash-based Zune product is going to be released in 4 and 8gb models. Ergonomically, it’s going to be much more compact than its brick-counterpart. But just like the first Zune, ‘Draco’ is going to have the same WiFi capabilities and video playback which should be a distinct advantage over Apple’s iPod Nano.

Let’s face it; Apple’s iPod products are a phenomenon that outshines any competition. Most people simply refer to iPod as a general name for mp3 players. Microsoft’s best bet to even come close to competing is the Zune’s WiFi capabilities. But so far, we still don’t feel quite welcome to the social.
