Uptight bluebloods in the British Board of Film Classification have banned Rockstar's upcoming videogame Manhunt 2 for its "unrelenting focus on stalking and brutal slaying." Ireland has followed suit as well.
That means no one in the U.K. will be legally allowed to sell the game. David Cooke, director of the BBFC, said: "Manhunt 2 is distinguishable from recent high-end video games by its unremitting bleakness and callousness of tone...There is sustained and cumulative casual sadism in the way in which these killings are committed, and encouraged, in the game."
Sounds awesome to us...
Rockstar has six weeks to appeal the decision.
Manhunt 2, for PS2 and Nintendo Wii comes out in the States (where we don't censor things quite as much) on July 10th.
