Well, kids, hell has officially frozen over.
The band that seemed like they could never sell out (1. because they had integrity, and 2. because the singer hung himself in 1980), Joy Division, are set to sign off on a pair of New Balance sneakers based on their landmark 1979 album Unknown Pleasures.
Ouch.
New Balance is waiting for final clearance on making the shoes, which will feature the ripples on the sole and tongue, and are emblazoned with the catalogue number Fact 10, after the band's record label, Factory Records.
American artist Dylan Adair designed the unlikely sneakers, which, if approved, will coincide with Control, an upcoming film based on the life of deceased singer Ian Curtis.
Wow. Nothing is sacred after all.
