It’s true, you know, nobody does love Mandy Moore more than we here at G4’s TheFeed. I mean, she’s a terrific actress, a darn fine singer, really hot, super sweet, and (most importantly) agreed to speak top geeks like us.

Yup, the star of such flicks as A Walk to Remember and Saved! has recorded a new album of music, but this time she’s going the folk-pop route rather than the teeny-bop path of her albums past. In fact, she goes so far as to ask host Zach Selwyn to burn his copies of all her old albums, as she deems them unworthy of ownership. Go figure.

Wild Hope is the name of Mandy’s latest musical endeavor, and it’s a bold step towards wrangling control of her musical career. After switching labels to find a home for her new sound, Mandy hooked up with some of her favorite singer/songwriters (such as Lori McKenna, the Weepies and Rachael Yamagata)and started writing material for the effort, a first for a gal whose material was generally submitted to her by aspiring songwriters. But this time she wanted to have her own stamp on the material, and have her own experiences and emotions reflected in the songs. Her enthusiasm and confidence shows on Wild Hope, certainly her best album to date.
