Tarantino Angers Italian Filmmakers

Posted by Mike D'Alonzo - Tuesday, June 05, 2007 11:11 AM

You have to have some special moxie to piss off an entire country's worth of filmmakers. Enter Quentin Tarantino, who made some disparaging remarks about Italian filmmaking of late, calling it "depressing," and saying that it was all the same. This is something, considering that Quentin has always been a major proponent of Italian cinema.

You know who he pissed off, specifically? Sophia Loren. And that's not something you want to do. Loren said, of Tarantino, "How dare he talk about Italian cinema when he doesn't know anything about American cinema?" Um...damn. Hot old Italian lady has a point. I mean, we love Tarantino here at TheFeed, but does he have the swerve to badmouth an entire country's worth of movies?

Food for thought.

Dewd Tarantino can say the same shit about american movies also. 40% of them are boring unoriginial abominations. 20% or stupid ass comedies than involve either a man being a women child opposite religion race etc. Which are also abominations. And 35% are remakes that are worst than the first ones. So really we are probably in the same boat as the italians.

Tarantino can say anything he wants.
