Blockbuster, Best Buy Enter Digital Age

Posted June 4, 2007 - By Dana Leahy

Two mega retailers, Blockbuster and Best Buy, might just be competing with iTunes and Amazon for your digital dollar.

Although neither company has officially announced opening online downloading stores, the CEO of Lion's Gate Entertainment recently let it slip during a meeting that his company had entered into agreements with both Blockbuster and Best Buy to distribute Lion's Gate movies digitally.

Wal-Mart and Microsoft were also name dropped during the meeting. Meaning now more than ever, there are going to be plenty of choices when you want to download movies.

And by choices, I mean you'll get to go to the same places you've always gone to get movies. Ahhh, feels like home.
