Whether or not you have already pre-ordered an iPhone, Steve Jobs is offering up one more reason for you to make up your mind. The iPhone will work with third party apps....sort of.
In a recent interview, Jobs discussed the problems with allowing third parties the opportunity to create applications for the iPhone. He believes that there is a "tradeoff between security and openness" and that they will "find a way to let 3rd parties write apps and still preserve security on the iPhone."
In other words, once Apple has approved the third party apps, they will let you put them on their precious iPhone.
Doesn't that kind of defeat the idea of an outside developer creating an application without Apple's approval?
