Just as soon as Brian De Palma's Untouchables prequel gets going, the star of the film has dropped out of production. Nicolas Cage, who was going to play Al Capone in the film, has quit over scheduling issues. Now there's no one to take over that role, which is going to be a tough break, since the film is actually called The Untouchables: Capone Rising.
So, who will take over the role? There's no word of yet, but we do know that Gerard Butler is on board to play the young Jimmy Malone, the character played by Sean Connery in the original film. We will find out soon enough what he was prepared to do as a youth to get into a snit with the great Capone.
It's just, we don't know who that is yet.
