The Age of Empires real-time strategy games are impressive. You can't argue with how well-made they are. The civilizations are balanced, they look great, even the single-player campaigns are fun. But I hate them.
See, I get all into building my civilization, carefully cultivating crops, clearing forests, scouting, the whole nine. But before I know it, a zillion elephants crush my walls and destroy my hard work before subjugating my people. Grrr. Ticks me off every time. Why can't we all live in peace?
But there's an expansion coming. Due in the fall for XP and Vista PCs, Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties will take the series to the Orient, introducing three new civilizations. It's being developoed by Big Huge Games, who made Rise of Nations.
I know I'll get sucked in again. I can't help myself. But those damnable elephants!
