Tales From The Crypt is back, baby.

And we're not talking about the kind of crappy HBO show of that name. Oh, no, we're talking about the original, the grandaddy of horror comics. The funny books that caused nightmares for an entire generation. The black and white drawings so horrific, gruesome and without reedeeming social value they forced the government to demand an entire industry be censored.

Yes, Tales from the Crypt has dug itself out of the dank tomb where it's languished for 50 years.

The new Crypt comics comes out in June and will feature:

• "Body of Work," by horror author Marc Bilgrey (H.P. Lovecraft's Magazine of Horror) and Mr. Exes (Abra Cadaver). The story reveals how two nosy and somewhat murderous neighbors discover the shocking inspiration for Jack Kroll's outsider artwork.

• "For Serious Collectors Only," by Rob Vollmar (Bluesman) and Tim Smith III (Teen Titans). This tale explores how far Thomas Donalley-a middle-aged action-figure collector who lives in his mom's basement-will go for an ultra-rare Japanese figure.

• Introductory pages featuring the GhouLunatics by writer Jim Salicrup and artist Rick Parker (Beavis and Butt-Head).

• Cover by award-winning artist Kyle Baker (Birth of a Nation, Plastic Man, Why I Hate Saturn).

Future issues will include stories by Fred Van Lente (Marvel Adventures), Xeric Grant winner Neil Kleid, Stefan Petrucha (The Shadow of Frankenstein, Papercutz' NANCY DREW), Don McGregor (Zorro), Sho Murase (NANCY DREW), and other great talents.
