Remember Innerspace? Well, Eddie Murphy is working on a film that's kind of the same. It's called Starship Dave, and, in it, he will play a starship piloted by a crew of aliens. The head of that crew will be the brilliant Mr. Judah Friedlander, so, even though the movie sounds like it could be another one of those Murphy abject failures, Friedlander will be there to make sure that there are at least funny people in it.
Of course, the presence of Jeff Garlin, who is also brilliant, didn't help a lot in Daddy Daycare, so there's a pretty good shot that all of Murphy's Oscar-nominated goodwill from Dreamgirls will be wasted away on bad films.
