Here's the trailer in case you missed it:
Here are the first Grand Theft Auto 4 screenshots. Check it out!
Here are the details we noticed from the trailer:
- It is set in a New York-style city. Liberty City? Or is it actually New York? We're pretty sure it's Liberty City, but hey, maybe we're wrong.
- The main character has an Eastern European accent (or is it Middle Eastern?) and, it seems has recently immigrated to the city. He has a troubled past, proclaim he has "sold people, killed people and smuggled people" and has come because "perhaps here, things will be different."
- The game looks amazing--huge leap forward from the last GTA games. Great lighting effects, textures, etc. Very next-gen. "Look at those brownstones!" proclaimed TheFeed's EMorton.
- The trailer itself owes more than a little debt to Koyaanisqatsi, an experimental film from the 80s subtitled "Life Out of Balance." They both have the same time lapse, urban visuals and a score from Philip Glass. Here's a small clip from that movie, so you can see what we're talking about...
