Whoda thunk it? The 2007 version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles did slam-bang box office over the weekend to become the highest grossing film of the week. Pulling in a highly respectable $25.5 million, which, incidentally is almost identical to the first weekend gross of the original film in 1990, TMNT knocked 300 out of the top spot, though the Spartan epic still brought in $20.5 million.
Among the losers at the box office are David Fincher's Zodiac, which is really underperforming. It's looking like it will finish roughly in the $35 million range, but the production cost over $60 million. Also not doing so well is Chris Rock's I Think I Love My Wife, which has only made a very small $10 million.
