Mythbusters Prove Speed Cameras Work

Posted March 11, 2007 - By Dana Leahy

Mega popular Discovery channel show 'Mythbusters' recently tested a myriad of products designed to outsmart so-called "speed cameras."

Speed cameras catch you in the act of speeding or doing other assorted illegal manuvers in your automobile by taking a picture of your license plate. Several merchants claim to sell plate protectors that will cover up the numbers on your plate when the light flashes, but 'Mythbusters' found none of them worked.

But the pesky duo was destined not to stop there, but to try and outwit the camera by going so fast it couldn't possibly snap a photo. After attempting to do it at two speeds: 100 mph and 140 mph, they concluded that the speed camera could not be fooled.

Oh well, either don't speed or have the money to pay the ticket, ya wuss.
