Windows Sank My Battleship!

The British Royal Navy is taking strides to ensure that in the 21st century, loose lips won’t be the only things that sink ships and Microsoft has their back… and their helm.

Our closest allies will be equipping their entire fleet of destroyers with a different software package than the one they’ve used in past years to control their onboard command systems and that software is Windows 2k.

Imagine if you will, a Windows operating system running the Royal Navy’s Vanguard class ships, the kind that carry nuclear weapons. If you’ve ever dealt with Windows for an extended period of time, especially Windows 2,000, you might be coming down with a major case of the willies right now, but believe it or not, Windows is even more reliable than the system they’re currently using.

That kind of revelation really makes one question the ability of our allies to watch our back, especially considering the times in which we live. Some people wouldn’t trust Windows 2k to protect their mold collection, let alone their country, but to each military power their own.
