Blame Canada...For Piracy

Posted February 15, 2007 - By Josh Lawson

It happened during the Depression and it looks like it is happening again, but instead of booze, this time it's bootlegged films and mod chips for game systems.

In an effort to enforce intellectual property rights and fight piracy, a coalition of American media industry trade groups has asked the US government to place Canada on the list of the world's worst countries....when it comes to piracy.

The IIPA (International Intellectual Property Alliance), which consists of the Entertainment Software Association, the Motion Picture Association of America and the Recording Industry Association of America, has singled out Canada as they feel the country has done little to nothing on making more stringent copyright laws and actually enforcing the laws that are already in place.

Joining the priority watch list with the likes of Russia, China, Belize, Venezuela and Turkey could find our Northern neighbors getting sanctioned.

That's right Canada, no more underage college students vomiting on your streets!!

Can you dig it?
