You work with idiots, right? Sure, we all do. But what if someone you have never met caused you to have to quit your job, just because they were stupid. And what if the job was really cushy, and you'd probably never have to work again if you'd been able to retire there. Welcome to the wonderful world of Jim Samples, General Manager of Cartoon Network...or, should I say, former General Manager of Cartoon Network.
Yes, Mr. Samples was forced to quit his job because of the complete lunatic idiocy of the State of Massachusetts, and their lack of ability to determine what is a legitimate terrorist threat, and what is a promotional opportunity.
To be honest, I'm not exactly sure this isn't some well-orchestrated way to soak Cartoon Network for money. To date, the channel has paid roughly $2 million in fines over the incident, with the potential for more on the way. All because we're being kept scared to make the government's path to finance an easier, less obstructed one.
Listen, Samples doesn't deserve to lose his job over this thing. Why can't ANY government agency ever admit they made a mistake. No harm, no foul. Just let it go. But, no. They're too intent on levelling the blame elsewhere, for fear that they'll look like fools.
Well, guess what, no one looks the bigger fool in this situation than the State of Massachusetts, not only because they're stupid, and can't take a joke, but now because people's lives are being ruined as a result.
