It’s been days since you’ve slept. The snowy tundra mingles with a lonely wind that hits you with gusts so cold they burn... they burn! "Ironic," you think as you contemplate why the hell you took this godforsaken assignment in the first place. Some sick bastard gutted and splayed someone and it’s your job to go chasing him through the arctic.
You want to let him go. No collar’s worth trekking through this hell. He’s probably dead somewhere in this cold empty anyway, but if he isn’t it then you, a by-the-book U.S. Marshall, have let a murderer get away. Worse than that, the sun is setting soon. That means no sunshine for six months solid. Then it’s just you and the killer and the darkness.
That’s essentially the plot of Whiteout, the film adaptation of the Greg Rucka's graphic novel mini-series of the same name. Dominic Sena, the guy who brought you Swordfish is set to direct and Underworld’s Kate Beckinsale is in negotiations to star in the chilly thriller. Though, how cold could it be with such a hot piece filling up the screen?
