Researchers from Hewlett Packard may have just figured out how to build the Ferrari of computer chips and they’ll be sharing their breakthrough with the tech community in Nanotechnology, next week.
They’ve been able to, on paper, rework the configuration of computer chips so that they can hold eight times as many transistors as current chips do by linking circuits together using a nanowire grid.
With this new technique, microchip energy consumption will be greatly reduced, chips won’t have to be discarded and replaced if transistors fail and manufacturers won’t have to build new billion dollar facilities to construct the little wonders.
Like you care. You only want to know if you’ll be able to get more porn, faster and you will, in 2010 when the new chips finally hit the market. Just hold out for three more years, just three more.
