24 To Cross Decency Line?

Posted January 15, 2007 - By Yodapollo

The writers for 24 will stop at nothing to fill their audience with terror. They’ve had a nuclear weapon detonated on U.S. soil, they’ve released a deadly virus in the streets of LA. They’ve assassinated a former President of the United States. Is there anything they won’t do?

Well, word has slowly leaked from the 24 set that some events are set to occur in tonight’s second half of the show’s 4-hour Season 6 Premier that even has the White House (the real one) worried about panic. What are these terrible events, you ask? Well, I could tell you… but then I’d have to kill you.

Or you could just check out the details after the jump. WARNING: HERE, THERE BE SPOILERS!!!

Well, you’re here. No bitching about spoilers now. No one to blame but yourself and your feline curiosity.

It seems that Fox executives have been pushing 24 to go nuclear this season. From what has been heard around the campfire, the executive have gotten their wish and we’ll see the start of it tonight.

Executives are already preparing for any negative word they may receive from communities who will be on the receiving end of any nuclear disasters.

This whole situation is similar to 2002, when Fox's The Sum of All Fears featured Baltimore becoming Balti-no-more following a nuclear detonation. The White House publicly disapproved of the film, which they believed crossed the line of civic responsibility.

Hmm… the possibility of several cities getting nuked on 24? Oh, wait they already did that… But in about only every season.
