Wii and PS3 Still Hard to Get Next Year

Posted December 27, 2006 - By Eugene Morton

Camping gear may remain the ultimate gaming peripheral for quite some time. According to the most recent Reuters report, the Playstation 3 won’t be wildly available in America until 2007 is half way over, sometime in June.

Whether or not the PS3 will meet its quota of one million units before the New Year remains to be seen, but the need for consoles for the European PS3 launch might negatively impact Sony’s ability to fulfill their promise to American gamers.

Nintendo is doing a slightly better job of getting consoles into eager hands, but even the Wii isn’t exactly abundant. Sure, they make it into stores, but they sell out almost instantly.

Fortunately for those who are after the Wii and don’t want to have to camp out in front of Best Buy, the console is expected to become more widely available by March.

Be safe though and keep that camping gear handy, gamers.
