Jim Carrey and Tim Burton are teaming up to make a biopic about Robert Ripley, the man who searched for and found some of the world's strangest people and things, and then brought them home to his Ripley's Believe It Or Not! museum. In addition, comedy screenwriter Steve Oedekerk, who wrote Ace Ventura, is on board to write it.
This film has been collecting dust as an idea for quite some time now, but hasn't been made because it's going to cost a lot of money. Perhaps Carrey's bankability makes that argument obsolete. Or at least it will until the abysmal-looking 23 comes out. Then, we'll see.
