RUMOR: 'MGS 4' NOT a PS3 Exclusive

Posted December 18, 2006 - By Stephen Johnson

According to gaming site Noooz.com, by way of an unnamed source close to the Konami, Metal Gear Solid 4 will not be a PlayStation 3 exclusive.

The word is, developer Konami doesn't feel there will be enough PS3s out there to support the title.

The 360 version of the game will come out a few months after the PS3 version, if this rumor proves true.

Joystiq.com reports Konami having told them:  "Metal Gear 4 [sic] is a PS3 title," a quote that doesn't answer any questions. We already know it's a PS3 title... but is it also a 360 title?

Also, here's a word of advice from Noooz.com:

"Can all you fanboys in the commentary box give it a f*cking rest with the platform wars? It's not a football team or a country, it's a f*cking machine made by a giant corporation that wants your money. GET OVER IT."

I second that emotion.

UPDATE: Okay, so Konami's official word, according to computerandvideogame.com is "Konami has no plans to bring Metal Gear Solid 4 to the Xbox 360 at this time,"  reiterating that the Hideo Kojima stealth-em-up was still "exclusive to PlayStation 3."
