Continuing to run roughshod over all other films released this year, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest has sold over 10 million DVDs in its first week of release. That's monolithic in number. If you consider that each DVD averages about $12.99, that means that the film has made over $120 million dollars in home revenue in the first week.
That's astronomical. People seem to really love Pirates. And it means that the third film, which will be released this summer, is likely to break all kinds of records at the box office. And it has Keith Richards in it. How can it lose?
