Our official policy at TheFeed is to chuckle coldly at the misfortunes of others, because, let's face it, it's funny when bad things happen to people who aren't us. But this story fills our black hearts with a little something called hope.
It all went down in Durham, North Carolina, when the Long family was terrorized by nere-do-wells who broke into their apartment in the hopes of absconding with cash and valuable prizes. One of the horrible, armed criminal forced the family down to the floor and then stole their cash and cards while his equally horrible accomplice waited outside.
Little did they know pint-sized crime-stopper Stevie Long was in his bedroom. The four-year-old dressed himself up in a Power Rangers costume and burst into the living room, plastic sword drawn, shouting, "Leave my family alone!"
Rather than slay the child (as I would have) the robber was spooked enough to run from the house.
The story is not without it's tragedy, however: Heather Evans, Stevie's aunt, feels the boy is delusional. "He fully believed he morphed," she said.
