Wow Wow Wee Wah! Check out this trailer for Sims 2: Pets for the DS.
That cat the Asian woman is holding looks a lot like my real-life pet, Schmedley the cat. He's a little black and white kitty I picked up at the South Central Los Angeles animal shelter a few years ago. Here's a tip for you: If you want to get a dog or cat in Los Angeles, skip the tony Westside shelters. The "good" animals there are snapped up quick by well-heeled yuppies. But down in South L.A., the shelter is crawling with unwanted animals--Cats, dogs, lizards, hampster, you name it--and no one visits to get them. I think the address scares animal lovers away. Cowards!
Anyway, Schmedley is missing many of his teeth. I had a vet pull like 12 of them because they were rotten and his mouth smelled like an open grave. He's missing both his top fangs. His "lips" get caught on his bottom choppers so he walks around with perpetual sneer on his puss.
And he's afraid of cloth. It's weird, but if you shake a dishtowel or something at him he scatters like he saw a monster. It has something to do with a traumatic run-in with a towel he had as a kitten.
I think I'll start a Catster profile for old Schmedley so he can be friends with other cats on the internet.
He'd like that, if he wasn't so dumb.
If this game is half as adorable as Schmedley, it'll be double-plus more adorable than any other game ever made.
