Russia has lost its sense of humor. The government has deemed that Borat is too dangerous for public consumption in Russia, and are attempting to block its release there. They've left the slightest possibility for a reversal, but they are clearly not happy about the cultural portrayal of Eastern Europeans as insensitive and naive.
That would be like President Bush banning Larry The Cable Guy from theaters because it portrays Americans as stupid white trash. Oh, wait. Maybe he should have. Maybe he didn't recognize it. Who knows?
Anyway, Russians are going to miss out on hot Borat action.
