TMZ is reporting that Eddie Van Halen has officially enlisted the talents of his son Wolfgang as the new bassist in Van Halen.
The 15-year-old made his musical debut on tour with dad when the band hit the road in 2004 for a reunion tour with Sammy Hagar. But rumors have been swelling that Wolfgang would become a permanent member alongside his pop ever since Eddie told Howard Stern that he had a falling out with OG bassist Michael Anthony. Rumors have also been rampant that the band is about to reunite with original singer David Lee Roth for a 2007 tour, though this has not been confirmed…yet.
Wolfgang replaces longtime bassist Michael Anthony, who left the band earlier this year. Eddie's spokesperson Janie Liszewski confirmed that Wolfgang has been rehearing with his dad and uncle Alex (VH drummer) in the studio.
See, folks, it’s all going down just like I said it would….
