Mario Etheridge, the man who authorities say killed Proof from D-12 in “lawful defense of another man,” was sentenced yesterday to time served and slapped with a $2,000 fine for weapons violations.
Last month a jury convicted Etheridge of carrying a concealed weapon and discharging a firearm inside a building in relation to the April gunfight at an after-hours club in Detroit that Proof and another man, Keith Bender, dead. Etheridge, 28, already spent several days in jail in April when he turned himself in to police before posting bond.
Prosecutors determined Etheridge acted lawfully in defense of Bender when he fired at Proof after an argument, and that he shot twice at the ceiling in an effort to stop Proof before firing at thim.
The whole thing started with a disagreement over a game of pool. How stupid is that?
